Sibylle Kockjeu

Sibylle is an international Choreographer, Dancer and Teacher with extensive understanding and experience in contemporary, latin and commercial dance styles.

 

She originally studied in Germany where she finished her 3 year degree with a diploma in dance, choreography and teaching. She then continued her studies in London and New York.

 

Her career started as a dancer for 'Theater Belacqua' in Germany where after 4 years she progressed to the role of Artistic Director and Choreographer for the entire dance theatre and held this position for 2 years.

 

Soon after she left Germany and relocated to the UK to fulfil a number of opportunities that arose in London.  There she worked with established names such as Derek Hough and Cheryl Cole, performed live on ITV and BBC and danced for the award winning contemporary company 'Combination Dance', amongst others.

 

Her work then led her to Asia where highlights included performing at the national 'Esplanade' theatre, the National Sports Awards and a gala performance for the President of Singapore. Also throughout her time in Asia Sibylle was lead dancer for the international company 'White Noise Creations' and performed in musical productions of Cats, Chicago and Dirty Dancing.

After working 2 years in Asia Sibylle moved back to Europe.  Based in Zurich, Switzerland, she collaborated with several artists and theatres and held numerous workshops throughout Europe.

 

She is now based in York, UK with her husband and daughter where she opened her own dance school - SK Dance as well as being founder and director of the SK Dance Company & SK Talent Agency and continues to work internationally.
